Below are some cool iPhone shots I was able to capture in the past couple of months. There’s always something cool to shoot in these New York City streets. Lately I’ve been thinking about creating a separate page to share more photography, maybe I will do so in the upcoming months, stay tuned… 🙂
Herb Lubalin is and always will be my #1 inspiration. I was first introduced to his work at a college course. We were assigned to do a presentation based on your favorite designer. After some research his work just stunned me, the use of typography and the bold style. Till this day his work remains timeless and hard to top.
Even thought I wasn’t able to appreciate his work while he was still alive, I was able to purchase his entire magazine collection, Avant Garde. It gave me a better understanding of his work direction which continues to be my everyday inspiration.
As a designer I always find myself looking for inspiration, as an artist you must stay on top of all trends and everything that is new and going on around you. I have always thought that, when you’re in the creative feel and don’t update your art with the latest styles, trends however you call it, eventually your time will pass. The world is constantly evolving and so should your creativity.
Below are some pins that inspired me tonight. As i began to pull these for the post, i felt some sort of excitement; the thing is that I’m looking to turn my creativity into something innovative. We can get lots of inspiration but when all this inspiration comes together to create your own masterpiece, that is when you define yourself as an artist, and hopefully determine your style in someway, and today that is what I find myself doing…
What inspires you?

My current obsession: Black & white photography, and the mix of a strong color to bring it to life. You would see a lot of images like this on my dropbox, I love fashion and the combination of graphic elements emerging together. A classic yet avant-garde combination.
